The Wingers Launch CD in aid of CCRT

The Caroline Foundation l

The Wingers launched the CD “Beeswing”, in aid of the Cancer Clinical Research Trust, at a concert in Ennis on Friday evening February 5th.

To order the song on CD you can contact Karen at fundraising@ccrt.ie

Alternatively you can download the song online at the following link http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/thewingers1

The launch was introduced by Professor John Crown with local man Ger Sweeney acting as MC. The Wingers were joined on stage on the night by a host of guests and friends from the world of music including friends from Shaskeen, Clare singer/songwriter PJ Murrihy, the great Tonto Murphy, the Two Bows, Eoin O’Neill & Brid O’Gorman and many more.

The Wingers is a group comprising seven members, all of whom have had loved ones affected by cancer. This CD launch and its production is a very personal one for all involved. “This is an opportunity to give something back in return for all the wonderful things that have come to us through the invaluable work of Professor Crown and his CCRT team.” says David Sanders of the Wingers.

When Richard Thompson (the author of the song) was approached he agreed to waive his royalty fees for the song to assist the Wingers and CCRT. We are most grateful to Mr. Thompson for his generosity.

A huge thank you goes to the Wingers, comprising Felim O’ Coilean, David Sanders, Stephen O’ Flaherty, Jack Talty, Frank Healy, Pat Costello and Paul Cropera who are assisted on the CD by Moira Murrihy, Joanie Madden and Neil O’ Loghlen.
